Mona and Tom, the creative team

Mona Lyn Reese was Composer-in-Residence at the Minnesota Opera from 1991-1999. The Three Fat Women of Antibes (TFW) was commissioned in 1998 by Opera Millennium (Minneapolis, Minnesota). For more information, see her main bio.

Thomas Hassing, known for his engaging and comic writing, wrote the libretto. His bio is here.

The World Premiere of the fully orchestrated and produced opera took place at San Jose State University in May of 2009; Michel Singher, Music Director, Daniel Helfgot, Director.

Other performances of TFW include: The University of Kansas Opera Studio, Goat Hall Productions of San Francisco, The Bluegrass Opera, and many performances by Opera Millennium and various artists in recital.
