Music and Mime at the Five and Dime, is a unique performance program that combines the talents of musicians, a restaurant, and an actor. The concept began when restaurateur, Kathleen Craig, shared her observations of the theatrics in her restaurant with composer, Mona Lyn Reese. The two women decided to create an event that combined music and food. There are four sections in the piece. Each section relates to the progression of an exceptional multi-course dinner designed by Jay Sparks, the chef at Ms Craig’s restaurant, the 510. An actor, dancer, or mime is the visual guide who leads the guests (audience) behind the scenes of the restaurant world.
