I’m excited for the World Premiere of my work for string orchestra, ¡Barbarumba! Nancy Weiner and Friends commissioned me and four other composers to honor Barbara Day Turner’s first 25 years with the San José Chamber Orchestra. I got the inspiration for this piece while I was in Havana recording my first ever jazz suite.

San José Chamber Orchestra’s festive kick-off concert, “Here We Go Again”, is chock full of composing talent – 7 living composers, to be exact….  Ahmed Alabaca, Craig Bohmler, Jeremy Cohen, Vivian Fung, Anica Galindo, Henry Mollicone, and Mona Lyn Reese!  Featuring SJCO and the award-winning Quartet San Francisco, this is sure to be a sizzling and scintillating evening of sparkling music, played brilliantly by the orchestra under the baton of Barbara Day Turner.   Sunday, Oct. 8, 7 pm, Trianon Theatre on N. 5th.  Special reception for all after the concert.
